Hancock County Court of Ordinary Minutes  1838-1863

Released September 15, 2000 This book: "Hancock County Georgia - Court of Ordinary Minutes 1837-1863"  which contains the transcription of two Court of Ordinary books 1837-1853 & 1853 - 1863. This represents 803 pages from the original books.  These  minutes deals primarily with guardianships and  administrations of estates.  Hancock County was one of the earliest counties in Georgia and many  genealogical researchers should be interested in the publication as well as the citizens of the area.  The index contains some 17,500 name entries of persons, once of residence there.  It was completed with the support of the R.J.
